PUBLIC-INTEREST RESEARCH STUDY:

ARE THE EFFORTS OF MENTAL HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS HELPFUL OR HARMFUL TO YOUNG PEOPLE OF COLOR?

On March 01, 2022, President Biden announced a strategy to address the nation’s mental health crisis.

In support of this strategy and to help foster accountability around the efficiency of mental health organizations addressing this national crisis, this research effort aims to:

  1. Identify past efforts by mental health organizations to address the needs of young people of color within the past 5 years (2017 – 2021)
  2. Identify key funders and stakeholders which have supported these efforts; assess levels of transparency of available information in this regard
  3. Identify what metrics of accountability and effectiveness are being made available to the public to assess the on-going need for these efforts
  4. Make public recommendations that support the call for addressing the nation’s mental health crisis going forward; make public an assessment of the effectiveness of mental health organizations supporting communities of color.

This research will conclude with a final report submitted for national publication. Please stay tuned for webinar details.
